Chev. S10 from Quebec Le Véhicule Vert
Year 2000 is near and I work a maximum about
general public awareness about EV. My S10 ext.cab.96 has been upgraded to 144 V.
I decided to show that we don't just drive
around our electric plug at home and I had planned a Camping weekend with
my trailer attach to my EV ( 6000 pounds total ). I called it Le Voyage Vert.I have been sending press
release up to Montreal area. During the trip I had to use a ferry where I have
been making a verry nice picture. http://members.xoom.com/evalbum/122h.jpg
3 french EV list member, Jean Dusseault,Pierre Mathews and
Jean_Claude Pépin have joined me on the camping. Remember the famous post
"Language other than English" . To get there, I have been using
secondary roads at about 45 mi./hr. on a distance of 32 miles and used 60% of
the capacity.
My goals where met. Because of the press release, I had 3
radio interview, half of a page in a major newspaper " Le Journal de
Montréal " and other newspaper too. I will have 2 pages in an
important magazine this weekend and I don't think it is finished yet... In
Quebec there is 19 EV now with Montreal 2000 Project but my concern is that we
are only 2 people having built our own conversion...this is why it is easy to be
popular with an EV.
On the 20 Sept. I went to the Canadian Electric Vehicule
Conference in Montreal. I was there with my S10 parked with the Montreal 2000
project Ford Ranger and Solectria Force. I really was not there to make a show
but I did. I had to drive 60 km. ( 37 miles) to get there and used 60% of the
pack. Most of the people, Goverment, Hydro, Fleet responsable didn't know that
some individual are building their own conversion...
I just wanted to remind you I am there in the North working on
general people awareness about Zero pollution
