Hello EVers.

The company I am working for is developing a new version of their 
Can Display unit.  This is designed as an additional dashboard for 
tractors, busses etc, and shows helpful information on a large 
colour screen (also has user interaction).

So, what does this have to do with electric cars?  Well, we are 
looking for more applications for this new unit, and I think that 
electric vehicles, whether conversions or custom built, would be a 
good candidate for a> using a canbus to tie everything together and 
b> having a good, easy to use and common display for all the data-
enabled devices that might be present.  e.g:

estimated range left, battery condition, charge state, diagnostics, 
trip distance, gps-map data (with charging stations?!), decent 
speed and rpm displays..    

Of course, existing controllers and chargers have rs232 rather than 
canbus, so provision for those would have to be made..

While we're at it, perhaps there's a market for a good smart charger 
as well?

Any suggestions?
