Re: Contactors vs Controllers on the drag strip.



In 1998 I drag raced the car using the shunt field at the start to increase
the starting torque and to cut down on the current surge when the light
turned green.

In 1999 I drag raced the car without the shunt field being activated at all.
It was operated with only the series field.

Rich was apparently not aware of the change.
