Rich, keep in mind what the main competition is.  Most people who use 
nicads buy the Solectria charger, amp-hour meter, and interface.  Add up 
the prices and you'll see that, compared to that, $250 is a bargain.  
Heck, $1500 for the isolated charger plus $500 for the data pack is  
~still~ a deal by comparison.

Besides, amp-hour replacement is a darn good algorithm for ~any~ battery, 
not just nicads.  It eliminates all the temperature compensation 
headaches.

Hmm, does Ampro still make the little board computers?  I wonder if one 
could be adapted to this use.
