Golf Cart Hill Climbing

Somebody on this list should be familiar with the hill climbing
ability of golf carts. I'm not a golfer but have noticed that
many courses have steep hills and that some golfers look
exceptionally well fed. Specific info about grade percentages,
gross vehicle weights, etc. would be helpful.

I asking because I'm wondering how a golf cart motor,
transaxle, controller, etc. might serve in my electric garden
tractor. It had been working pretty well with its 300-amp
aircraft generator, two 12-volt batteries and its hydrostatic
transaxle until reverse failed in the transaxle. Maybe
installing golf cart components is an answer.

The old hydrostatic transmission was noisy and inefficient
and heavy but could easily spin the wheels on dry pavement
and climb 30 percent grades. It's infinitely variable speed
control was also kinda neat. The tractor hauled many loads
of fill dirt, concrete blocks, firewood, etc. up and down a
steep narrow road I built on my property.
