Re: DC switches - where do ya get 'em?

> Where can one get high voltage DC switches?

Check with a decent-size electrical supply shop for snap-type wall
toggle switches. Many of them are DC-rated. Their designs date back
to the old days when houses were occasionally wired with 115 volts
DC (!).

One type I've seen now and again, even in the home-warehouse
places, is the round surface-mount type. These are often used to
replace the old round turn-knob switches in houses built 70-80 years
ago. When I was old-house-hunting in Virginia a few years back, I
often saw these (both turn-knob and toggle) in attics.

Because they're small and easy to mount, this type would probably
work nicely for an EV.

Of course you could also use a DC rated relay and a small switch on
the instrument panel, which is what most EVers probably do.
