NiFe is Nickle Iron. Name taken strait from the periodic chart (Ni Nickle,
Fe Iron).
Something tells me that NiFe and NiCad batteries must gas both ways. The
electrolite is unchanged by the charge/discharge process, but clearly the
plates are, both ways.
