RE: B&D cordless mower question

Hey all,

First off, I'd like to sincerely thank everyone who has offered their input
on my lawnmower charger problem. I've since done a little testing and I
think it's safe to assume that the current transformer I am using isn't
doing much. This is what I've measured:

Battery voltage after 24-hour rest: 23.8V (combined across pack)
No-load voltage of the transformer: 28.8Vrms
Battery voltage after 5-hours on "charge": 23.8V

So obviously my charger isn't really offering much in the way of charge
current to the batteries. I'm going to contact Black and Decker to try and
get the actual transformer for this model.

As far as the batteries are concerned, they are YUASA brand.
The model number is YLM18-12 - more descriptively: 12V at 17.2Ah.
It even states right on one of the batteries that the charged level is
around 14.4Volts. That will be a good guideline for me to go by.

It also seems I finally have a practical use for those two solar panels I
picked up a couple years ago... :)

Thanks again,
-Gary
