Re: Q:NEDRA on batteries..

Madman here... sitting in Rod's chair at Wilde EVs

Bill you have your head up your slide rule again. I have charged floodeds
as fast as you can your AGM miracle, mortals can't get Bolder batteries.
The basic chemistry has NO effect on the recharge rate of a
battery, The internal resistance and the capacity, and the amount of Depth
of discharge DOES. So does internal construction. You can make a low
resistance Flooded, they call them Starting batteries...
I feel that outlawing floodeds is a foolish endeavor that should
NOT be taken lightly. In the lower power classes... who cares??? What
happened to the 64 lbs class, race your 'Thon on the strip? It looks like it
went the way of Conforming to NHRA. Darn... alot of folks have had fun
playing with little fun 24 to 48 volt single seat EVs.
Yes it is self evident that the Fast cars won't be using
floodeds... but don't burn your bridges that our EV forefathers had to
cross. Just a few years ago.. some real fast electric Hydros were using
floodeds.

So... I guess I better read the rules for battery type. Open wheel cars
limiited to sealed batteries only.

Rich Rudman
@ Wilde Evolutions...
They really left me with the keys to the toy store today. Picking up a
contactor for the Fiero... nice to have my EV supply store just 40 miles up
the road and on the same side of Pungent Sound. Now I wonder if the DCP
guys really will come down to Kingston and put an AXE through my old Curtis
if I tawnt them enough....??? I want to move the Fiero under it's own power
this weekend. I have the time... I am NOT buidling DC/DC converters and
Charger, and controllers. I am building my own EVs today.
Later.... Rod wants his PC back....
