Re: Cap Gaskets - What Type Rubber?

Yes, I've got the 8GC 8V golf cart type.
Ken Morris called this morning and got the shipping address,
and gave me the address to send off the check. He was to call
back after lunch with the total price including shipping.
Ken called back at 1:30 PM, and what he said absolutely
floored me. He had talked to the office in CA, and said that even
though the batteries were no longer under warranty, the caps on
them would have had to have been replaced anyway (whether due
to initial design or the fact that none of them had vent holes, he
didn't elaborate), they were going to send me 120 caps AT NO
CHARGE! If I wore dentures, they would have fallen out on the floor.
Pretty rare in this day and age to get customer service this good.
Right now, I would give US Battery's customer service a very
high rating. A day and a half and a couple of phone calls and the
goods are already on the way. Plus, both Dave Mason and Ken
Morris were courteous and willing to take the time to talk to you.
By way of contrast, I have yet to hear anything back from
Trojan after a week, either the e-mail I sent to their customer
service address or the local distributor in Gastonia NC.
Again, my thanks to Nawaz, Mark Hanson, and everyone else
who helped me on this.
