Re: Warren Brown "Thumbs Down" article

I can't make it to the online discussion unless it keeps going for inexcess
of 3 hours, could someone please pass my comments on.

With regards to the EV ranger, how many places is it actually available in?
I've never seen one at a dealer where I live. Perhaps if it was available
in more areas they could sell more of them(duh).

Ask how often he has to drive more then 115 miles. For me, my family a trip
further then that only happens about 4 times a year.

Where he said, "They argue that the companies have not marketed the battery
vehicles well, that they have not produced enough electrics to create a
market, and that the companies have not pushed hard enough to reduce the
cost of those vehicles, which easily can be double the price of
gasoline-powered versions." He didn't argue the fact that companies haven't
made an effort to reduce the cost of electric vehicals(hence according to
debate workshops, if it were a debate, since he didn't contest that
arguement it that must be a true statement. Only mention this part if he or
any other anti-ev person attempts to call this discussion a debate). Ask
him to compare the costs of electric vehicals to other cars with equivlent
production levels. If he doesn't produce a satisfactory answer ask if it is
true that things become cheaper if they are mass produced, to which he will
inevidably answer yes. Then ask if he would agree that it is unfair to
compare the cost of electric vehicals to other cars because electric
vehicals are produced on a smaller scale. If he attempts to answer no,
mention that it contridicts his earlier remark that mass production makes
things cheaper to produce thus the car with the greater production has an
unfair advantage.

Also regarding the above mentioned paragraph and the one imiediately
following it, inform him that I haven't seen a single advertisment for an
electric vehical and have not seen any electric vehicals at the dealers.
Then ask if he can honestly say that is a good attempt at marketing.

One last thing, could someone send me a transcript of this discussion when
it's finished.
