RE: Ya Volt finally gets new batteries
David, The motor is a 9 inch Advanced.
As to your questions Mike,
1. I believe I am measuring battery amps, the gauge is wired back into
the bus bar where the main pack fuse is, it is a traditional Solar Car
Corp setup from 1995 which was used in the S-10s form what I can
tell.
2. I'm not sure about full throttle, that's today's first thing to
check.
3. As to charge, It was my first trip with newly installed batteries.
they were showing 125.9V (120 volt pack) on the pack when installed so
I didn't charge them up first. I just drove, was this a mistake,
should I have charged them first?
Finally at everyone's suggestion I'll check the Current Limit pot on
the Controller as well.
Thanks Lee, Eric and everyone for your guidance.

If I recall correctly, controller current limits can be fooled into
cutting back too soon if the motor inductance is too low. What kind
of
motor are you using? You might need an extra series inductor.
