As far as I'm concerned you can't really use this type of charger for AGM's. 
When you are in the bulk charge phase you should be OK. In the absorption and 
especially the equalise phase you need precise voltage or current control. 
With the low frequency pulsing nature of phase angle controlled chargers you 
only have control over the average voltage and current. The pulses can easily 
be well above the required voltage and current limits.
