..and how about the rally cars (Lancias, Subarus, Audis etc...), how well do you
think a 2-wheel drive car would do against them? The traction control done
properly makes the best out of low-traction conditions, such as dirt. Can't beat
it.

2-wheel drive, non-traction controlled cars HAVE to be aimed/skidded. 4-wheel
drive (especially with T/C) cars can easily be driven faster (and safer), but
are MUCH less fun! There is a thrill factor that you are not considering why the
Sprint Cars are setup that way...
