Building a motor controller is lot more complicated than going down to radio
shack and picking up a few parts to solder together.

Still if you are willing to put the time into the research a good place to
start (that included plans for a 24V 40-50amp controller) is:

Of course the same folks can probably SELL you a controller for less than it
will cost to build one.

And what the heck is a car launcher?
