Re: How do I get an EV Ford Ranger

Bill Dube' asked for thoughts on a Ford EV Ranger to haul around his amazing
electric dragbike here in Denver. There are two Ford dealers listed in
Colorado as authorized to sell or lease the EV Ranger. Lakewood Fordland,
F.K. Dietz, 303-232-2200 and Academy Ford (Colorado Springs), Dom Cimino,
719-572-2200. Authorized means they trained some of their people to work on
the EV and keep some special tools and parts on hand. As for EV Rangers in
use - La Plata Electric Association in Durango has one and I remember
reading that the City of Boulder has two and maybe it was Greenwood Village
that has another two.

I heard that Ford has been real helpful with maintenance and repairs for the
EV Ranger in Durango. The original agreement was that La Plata would haul
it about 300 miles to Colorado Springs each time, but instead Ford sends a
mechanic to Durango at their own expense.

Back in February a set of Optima Yellow Tops arrived at La Plata for the
Durango High School Datsun truck project. La Plata put them in their EV
Ranger and took them over to the school. Interesting to see a full set of
batteries being hauled as cargo by an EV truck.

Good luck,
