It looks to me like used vehicles and conversions don't get as much
money... $5000 and up depending on cost. But there is also credit
for chargers and credit for installing charging infrastructure... and
get this....100% credit up to $400,000 for a publicly-accessible
refueling setup! Sounds like a business plan to me; find a
little chunk of land near some shopping and theaters, and set up charging
stations and/or propane/hydrogen/LNG/etc. Unless they have restricted
it in some way, maybe all of the improvements to the land would be paid
for by the credit, since that is its dedicated purpose, and it could
be operated at a loss for a while since the only ongoing costs are
electricity, taxes, paying for the land, and a possible attendant if
other fuels besides electricity are offered. Then again, electricity to
charge doesn't cost much so maybe the trend is for it to be a "perk"
provided along with parking, shopping etc. I don't know if the businesses
will come to see it that way or if all the free charging stations we see
now are purely politically motivated.
