I don't know electronics, but I had been recommended an IR2110 ($3.78 from
chipcenter.com) to drive high and low mosfets, doing without a diode and
allowing regenerative braking with PM motors. This chip can handle high
drive currents and short cycle times. Having never put my electronics
ability to the test, I have yet to smoke my own set of fets.
