Ok folks I just got back from the Mail stop, shipped 6 reg orders, got 2
to go.
The Fiero is on the Ammo box charger. All I can get is just about 22.5
amps into 170 volts of hungry Yts.
I have a inductor, I have a Variac, I have SCRs voltage control and amp
regulation. I get about 3700 Watts out of a 7500 Watt breaker.
More amp... I have to dig through my wife's Yarn stash to get to the
breaker box. More that %50 is Lucky.. with out the Inductor it was only
17 amps. So Rich, if you have a 50 amp feed that's 12,000 watts. You are
going to be fortunate to get 6Kw delivered into your Lead.
This could be a kind of a test for us power mongers. The cheapest bag of
surplus parts to get the most out of a 50 amp 14-50 bonified out let
winsthe bragging rights. Let the list know the magic. I of course need
to make a switcher that meets practical industrial limits. And then sell
it to you all. A 12 Kw switcher is.. too advanced and pricey for this
back woods brall.
But lets keep the ground rules simple. NO switcher. No Active PCF
circuits. Just Copper, Steel, and Caps. Silicon for the rectifiers, Ok,
SCRs fets for current limit only. I really would like to see what we can
do and how cheap it can be done for. And ahem... no weight limits... My
stuff's over 200 lbs...and it needs LOTS more inductor.
Oh yea... buck mode... that is no 1500 volt wonders. Input is a real
simple 50 amp 240 volt out let. Oh OK Paul and Richard B.. 50 HZ is Ok
also.

Alrighty who's Game????

Madman.
gotta get sommore #6 copper....
