Towing the new "City EVs"
Well, I just got another notice the owner is raising my rent.
So, I have to look for more affordable accommodations.
Back when I took possession of my EV (1992), there was no public EV
charging. That has changed. While EV charging here is not as
prevalent as in Sacramento, LA and San Diego, the SF bay area does
have some around.
I spent today checking out new places. Since I have responsibilities
in San Jose, I would prefer not to be no farther than my half way
range point. But, that may not be an option.
If I continued renting, I may have to move an hour away. Commuting in
traffic is not my first desire. I been toying again with the idea of
getting a RV that can tow my 5000 lb blazer, and live at an RV camp
on the outskirts of the SF bay area (still a commute, but affordable).
Advantages would be being able to 'pick up and go' to any EVent (if
I can get the time off), and bring my EV with me for tooting around
the area. I would have liked to do this at the EVents that recently
happened near LA.
I am also checking for other positions with in the company (oh no,
not another life change). I gotta keep my head above water, and be
able to afford more EV chargers :-)
It's too bad. I was pretty happy to be an example of how a person
could drive an EV and live in an apt. But there are just too many
'bill gates wannabees' out here, so the slave labor has to be imported.
...
Along these lines, I have several decisions to make (I am hoping the
EV List does not go into an OT jag, and does discuss OTs offline).
Will Beckett has sold his Blazer (hmmm, ... that was easy).
His Blazer was the sister to mine (mine was first from Solar). If at
some point I sold my Blazer, the cash would go into another EV (I
would not want to go through EV withdrawals).
I am praying that Ford and DChrysler get there act together and
produce the "City EVs" that the GM/EVAA said they would. I also
pray these are not golf cars and are real EVs (highway speed capable).
Think of me tooling down the highway (55mph),
with my Ford Think City or DChyrsler Smart in tow ...
(I hope those EVs will allow for a tow bar!?!)
