Re: GE Motor

Hi Ron,
GE told me that they stopped making 5BT1346B123 in 1996.
The Product General Manager of GE's Electric Vehicle & Motor Control
Division said that GE made a decision to stay out of the electric
passenger car,
on the road, market back in 1996.
GE custom made one for me in 1997 because I got lucky meeting a very nice
and influential GE stockholder, who is also an EV enthusiast, after GE
refused to fix my motor under warranty.
Max shunt field is 20 amps at 37.6 volts on my 96 volt, 27 hp, Shunt
wound motor 5BT1346B123.
At nominal field of 96 volts / 250 amps maximum armature,
37.6 volts / 20 amps maximum shunt field, 27 horsepower load:
RPMS =2560,  Torque = 60 LB-FT.
28.2 volts / 15 amps shunt field, 96 volts / 250 amps max armature,
RPMS = 2883, Torque = 55 LB-FT.
18.8 volts / 10 amps shunt field, 96 volts / 250 amps max armature,
RPMS = 3667, Torque = 43 LB-FT
13.2 volts / 7 amps shunt field, 96 volts / 192.5 amps armature,
RPMS = 4810, Torque = 25 LB-FT
11.3 volts / 6 amps shunt field, 96 volts / 165 amps armature,
RPMS = 5425, Torque = 19 LB-FT
9.4 volts / 5 amps shunt field, 96 volts / 134 amps armature,
RPMS = 6320, Torque = 13 LB-FT.
Have been run up to 144 volts armature, 6500 RPMS, with 100-150 CFM of
air to stay cool.

Bill
