I spoke today with the head of production for the Ranger EVs. My notes
are at my office, but the summary is that the Ranger is going to abandon
the NiMh batteries (because of cost) and return to the Delphi type 8
volt AGM battery which is now manufactured by East Penn. Tracking these
batteries is how I ended up in this conversation. What he couldnt tell
me immediately was whether or not consumers like me and thee will be
able to purchase these batteries. He promised to get back to me on this
after talking more with East Penn. But Ford, according to him is
certainly going to be making the Ranger EVs.
