Re:Racing Regs.
Sales hype and story Not interested?? hit delete NOW
It's just what I needed.
Well I found a trick for the racers, And that's me for sure. I have the
first 5 Rudman Reg Mark 2s on Goldie, at night....I charged up until all
the Mk2s were in full thermal regulation... Green leds locked on, and
all the Red undervoltage leds off. They get set on when you first
connect them to the batteries. The undervoltage latch is set to 9.5
volts.
Then the first run... Scratch to 4000 rpm then third and Yellow light
on the Big old Raptor 1200 #22 for a full 3 seconds.. That would be
really close to 1/8 of a mile under full scream. The E-meter I think got
down to 120 volts on a very fresh charge on 156 volts of Optima Yellow
tops. Yea you can get a fully charged Yt to sag below 10 volts with 1200
amps on them. 3 of the Undervoltage red leds were on when I checked.
Romped on it back to the house, and 1 more went red. The fifth one did
not flinch. John, Jim and Dennis... wanna find a few weak batteries ????
I can. I just did.
I can do Mk2s in volume... as of today.
They are stacked on every horizontal surface in various states of test
and assembly.
You EE types out there.... Imagine 60 plus Regs most almost into final
test and QC.. and you find a 5K pot in the place of a 100K... I don't
use 5K pots..., for anything... Now find the other dozzen or so miss
packaged 1/4 inch pots.... Looks like a bit more solder sucking practice
for the teenagers... GRRRrrrrrr!!
The fully loaded self limiting Mark II Rudman Regs go for $30.00 each.
I think I can sell a undervoltage latch and leds with no dissapation fo
about $20. 2 of the 10 Known Reg flavors....
Did I say it slices and dices and wait there's more????
