In case my post was ambiguous; the price of the pack has halved
_to_ $5k. And bear in mind this is a high-voltage pack of (IIRC)
D-size cells; it would probably take at least 2-3 such packs to get
useful range.

Hmmm. sounds tempting. I wonder if these would preform decently in an EV? I
guess I'll check the archives first, as I have a suspician they would have
been designed for low energy density, high current and be more suited for
drag racing than long distance commuting.
