Bolder Technologies used to sell their batteries. They were
expensive...$8-$10 for a sub-C, 2V, 1Ahr cell. They pulled them from the
market to sell more "value added" products containing their batteries. The
"lame battery booster", as you call it, is one of those products. It is the
most powerful, compact and light weight product of it's kind on the market. I
won one as a prize at Bandimere this year for setting a new NEDRA record.
Anyway, now, Bolder has decided to let NEDRA racers buy these batteries for
our vehicles. They are sold in hot glued, shrink wrapped, 12V packs with
braided leads. I believe Wilde EVolutions was the chosen as the only outlet
for these batteries. The price is very steep...I believe $50-$55 per 1Ahr,
12V pack. For racing a car conversion, it will cost you a small fortune
because you will needseveral strings in parallel. For a street conversion
with say 25 miles range...forget it.
I have the old pdf file that is no longer available on their web site, with
specs for their single battery. It is amazing. I can send that if anyone is
interested. Let me know. If you want to really know what this battery can
do, perhaps Bill Dube', the designer/builder of the Killacycle "The World's
Quickest Electric Motorcycle" will weigh-in on this discussion. The
Killacycle's Bolder battery pack propelled it to 153 mph in the quarter mile.
