I just licensed my Harley

I just got back from the State of Arizona Motor Vehicle Dept. where I
finally got a plate for my 74 Harley. This is not off topic as my
1974 Harley Davidson is an electric Golf Cart built in Michigan. I've
swapped out the motor for a larger shunt wound Kostov that I will
eventually run at 72 volts which will give me decent around town
speed which actually will be higher than the statute speed for golf
carts in Arizona which is 15 MPH. I told the lady at the licensing
bureau that I could make it do 100 MPH if I hopped it up some but I
don't think she believed me. The Harley's of this vintage have a
nicely styled body and a longer wheelbase than newer carts. I
installed a Harley motorcycle windshield from a dresser, a horn from
an early springer front end and the taillights are after market
Harley tombstone style. It has turned out to be a good looking unit.
Now I can wear a Harley T-shirt and walk with a saunter :-) I will
post some pictures of it on our site and on the EV discussion list
photo album as soon as it stops raining and snowing. My next project
will be a 120 volt early Marketeer 3 wheel golf cart from the fifty's
I believe. It has a good sized motor that should easily handle the
almost quadrupled voltage. The motor sits parallel above an
automotive style rear end which I've been told is from a Dodge. It
has an enclosed silent chain like the timing chain on a car which
will make it easy to change to a higher ratio. I want to be able to
do at least 60 MPH with this puppy. I'm starting to really get off on
Golf Carts. Who knows where it will all end.
