Cal Poly's Second Annual EV Expo and Rally, February 24th 2001

We are proud to announce the Cal Poly Electric Vehicle Engineering Club's
Second annual Electric Vehicle Expo and Rally. The date is Saturday,
February 24, 2001.  Events will include a road course, distance rally, and a
barbeque.

Registration for each electric vehicle is $10 before February 20th and $15
afterward.  This cost will include a barbeque ticket and a t-shirt.
Additional barbeque tickets can be purchased for $5.  Registration on the
day of the event will begin at 10:00.  

The road course will begin at 11:00 in one of our larger parking lots.  This
will be an exciting event that will allow owners to showcase their vehicles'
handling.  There will be spotters on site to assist if necessary.  Also, a
charging station will be available for use throughout the day.  

Our barbeque will begin at 12:00.  There will be an area nearby for the cars
to be showcased during the meal.  Participants and spectators will be able
to enjoy great food while admiring other electric vehicles.  

The distance rally will take place at 1:30.  During this event, vehicles
will circle around the course as many times as possible as a display of
endurance.  There will be spotters stationed along the route and locations
for vehicles to stop when necessary. 

If you can bring an electric vehicle for display and/or competition, that
would be great. If not, please feel free to come to the event and enjoy the
show. Be sure to forward this to anyone you feel might be interested that
isn't on the EV list.

P.S. Sorry for the short notice, we decided to move the event to the
Saturday of national engineering week. While this forced us to give short
notice this year, in future years you can expect it to happen during
national engineering week as well.
