Most of the experence on this list hasn't been
good. But then they keep trying to use 2 phase ac
genorators which because of ac power factor problems
that burn up 2 phase ac gens and only put out 1/2
their rated output for the short time they work.
Depending on your voltage, amp needs, what's
lying around cheap, good dc gens types are PM , 3
phase ac with h-bridge rectifier, shunt and series
motors. Most motors will genorate when wired correctly
and driven faster.
How it's wired depends on which system you use.
What are your goals, vehicle, weight, budget, ect?
Because of my low voltage a car alt, 3 phase ac
plus diodes, works for me for now.
I'm looking for affordable 5, 7.5 and 10 kw new
alt/genorators to make into APU's.
Does anyone know where to get good prices on new
3ph alt/gen, no ice, that would work at 120 to 156vdc
at 3kw to 10kw for charging batts?
Doesn't AC propulsion and someone else make APU's?
Thanks, jerry dycus
