Figures don't lie, but liars figure. The trouble with so many of these
tirades is that such people pick their conclusions first, and then rig
their facts to support it. Any data that agrees is exaggerated, and any
data that disagrees is minimized or ignored. The result is completely
opposite of what the facts support.
Linus: How did the race go Charlie Brown?
Charlie Brown: Terrible; Lucy was second, and I was next to last.
Linus: But, only the two of you raced! That means you won!
Charlie Brown: That's not the way Lucy describes it.
