OT: Solar Thermal was Re: Solar for EV charging
Don't know if this answers your question, but the
prime example of this phenomena is "Solar One" in
Barstow, CA. They use over 1000 mirrors, all
reflecting up to a tank elevated on a scaffold. The
tank holds liquid sodium, which is heated and due to
thermal expansion, generates electricity. It has
generated power for the grid, (ie, this is for
communities not a single residence). They have also
built "Solar Two", as well, but I have no _specific_
data (ie, real firsthand knowledge from the utility
company) why they have not built several more.
