Re: More three wheeler stuff
Robert, I know someone with an Aluminium bodied vintage Crosley (apparently
only one of two in the world). They can't get a clear coat to stay looking
any good on the bare Aluminium, so they have to polish it frequently. Might
not be as bad on stainless steel but I think it could be, because very few
clear coats don't go cloudy when exposed to the sun (just ask all the solar
car racers who go to great lengths to find clear coatings for their solar
cells).
On the VW beetle. My understanding is that they are still made in Brazil
and one other South America country. However I gather it is the 1960's
model(s) that are made, which did not have the better suspension that was
put on 1970's models.

Clear coat it after it's posished.

You may want to think about using a different front end than the beetle.
The car has not been produced it quite a while, and even though there are
lots of parts available, they tend to be specials.
