starter motors

Hi Lee and all,

A lot of times I have wondered why starter motors can not used be for traction in my bicycle. However, I know that these
motors are not rated continuous. What is it that makes them differ from traction motor? If the applied load is less,
their current consumption is going to be less. With proper cooling I must be able to use them. So why can't I then use
them for traction? I heard there's is a type of four pole starter motor with two series winding and two shunt winding.
Can I use them? Advices please!
