ev project components
We are planning a new ev conversion. One of the goals
of this project are to improve on the acceleration
over our present Solar Electric Escort while keeping
the 30-40 mile range. The plan is to stay with wet 6
Volt batteries and try to have a 120 Volt pack. The
donor vehicle is a BMW 2002. We would be interested
in the comments of the discussion group on the
reliability and advantages/disadvantages of the major
components (if this is in a faq somewhere, please
accept apologies and point us in the right direction):
1. motor - Advanced DC 9" (any other reasonable
alternatives?)
2. controller - Curtis 1231C (DC Raptor?, other?)
3. 120 Volt AC input on board charger - Russco?,
Zivan?, other?
4. DC-DC - Todd PC30 (Sevcon?)
Thanks
