CommutaCar Wiring

Hi,
I've been following the CommutaCar discussion avidly since I am (attempting)
to prepare one for service. My most serious difficulty is the brakes - the
wheel cylinders were damaged from long storage and I have not been able to
find new ones. There seems to be only one supplier of the rubber parts which
are quite expensive. I've honed the cylinders and will see how they work
when I recieve the new piston seals and cups. One solution might be to try
to put new 7" trailer brakes on the car, but that would require custom
machine work since the existing bolt pattern didn't match the trailer brake
that I looked at.

I am upgrading the traction power wiring from #1 to 2/0 but noticed that the
existing negative pack cable is #2 instead of #1, and is labeled as such on
the wiring schematic: "#2 SAE 105degrees". The car has an ancient Curtis PMC-
17C controller. Could the #2 wire be needed to protect the PMC-17 from
overcurrent? If so, replacing it could mean replacing the controller down
the road (if I get that far!)

Thanks for any advice - this a GREAT list!
