You can find the Hawker EV manual at:
http://www.hepi.com/lit.htm
It discusses the issue of minumum charge current, but rather obliquely.
I, too, was told by a Solectria tech that their work with Hawkers
revealed that the Genesis batteries need high current bulk charging -- on
the order of 1*C10 -- to give good service life.
This finding is referred to in a rather awkward and confusing way on this
page:
http://www.state.ma.us/doer/programs/ev/ev.htm
If anyone knows of a better source somewhere on the net, please post it.
BTW, Solectria reportedly stopped using Hawkers about 5 years ago because
of this. IIRC, by fitting multiple chargers they could aggregate enough
capacity to make the batteries happy, but the cost was steep, and many
users didn't have facilities to support the high power required. I may
be recalling this incorrectly though.
