Are you sure it is 3-phase, and not just single-phase 220vac? 3-phase is
rare in residential buildings.

That's easy. The power company usually provides them for free with a new
installation. How about if you call the power company and have a new
service installed wherever you want it, and pay the monthly electric
bill (which will be the minimum payment; EVs use very little
electricity).

That explains the high price. But why is he running #8? Just how big is
