Re: Cr**py products

Jim, I hate to say this, but the most likely reason that we've
never heard of such a filter/PFC unit is that it doesn't exist.
If one does exist, then all of the people selling Zivan chargers
haven't bothered to utter a single word or spend a single dime on
advertising to let their potential and existing customers know that
such a unit was available. Sort of hard to sell a product if people
don't know you have it.
Of all the Ev businesses and websites, Current Events, EV
News, phone and e-mail conversations with business reps, I have
NEVER seen or heard ANY mention of an add-on PFC/filter unit for
Zivan NG series chargers.
I have no idea what Mr. France was actually told word for word.
It is possible that somehow in the conversation the EMI line filter
that was installed in the power cord for the older K2 series
chargers became confused with a PFC/Filter unit for the newer NG
series chargers. If Mr. France talked to the person I think he did, I
can easily understand how he might have misunderstood him,
having become totally lost during phone conversations with that
person myself.
If in fact Mr. France was told clearly that such a unit does
exist, and if in fact it actually doesn't, than I have no idea what the
hell is going on. I could only ascribe it to some behind-the-scenes
EV business politics that I wouldn't even try to unravel.
Even if such a unit doesn't exist now, there is something in the
works such that within a few weeks we should know if it is possible
to build a plug-in PFC unit so that you can use a Zivan with an
Avcon unit, and that's all I can say now.
