Re: Curtis 1231 or Raptor 600 and Other Stuff.
I think an important point to remember is that Curtis controls
are designed for industrial EV's and golf carts.
I've taken several apart and can tell you they designed for maximum profit
putting the least amount of silicon/capacitors/aluminum in as possible.
They were NOT designed for on road EV's.
Damons control was designed for EV's with many of the features
his customers asked for.
It also appears that his design has much more headroom in the
reliability department (using plenty of silicon and cooling to make sure
the control lasts).
In conclusion, putting 200V FETS and higher voltage capacitors
in an industrial EV control DOES not make it an on road EV control
(Curtis).
