More like 3,000. Most cars are direct thru the trans in 4th gear, so engine
and drive shaft speed are the same. 3k and under is the rpm range that a
series motor would eat up, but series won't give you the ability to regen
during braking, but an AC or BLDC motor built for that speed range will.
