Re: Help with fiber optic cable/control
Try www.omron.com and www.efector.com. They both sell photoelectric with
fiber optic inputs. They could be mounted through a hole in the brush case
to detect the visible arc.
Another idea is to use an RF sniffer to detect the RF from the arc. There
is some RF in normal operation, but it should go up substantially when
arcing. The controller produces some RF that would interfere also. (BTW,
as you have probably guessed, I have not tried this idea :-)
