Re: Dynasty Group 31 AGM (was Battery Cycle Life/Cost)

I have eight 1996 Dynasty UPS12-475 batteries that I raced at Woodburn in
1999. I have not run the car since then because I changed to optimas. I
cycle the batteries two times twice a year. The cycle tests show that even
after six months sitting in the shed, they need less than one amp hour to
top off and then put out the same number of ampere hours (on the second
cycle) as when I received them in 1999.

Rudman was the previous owner. He has the other four of the original set of
12. He ran them in Goldie from 1996 to 1999 and they pulled some duty at DCP
testing controllers.

I have other manufacturers' 'take outs' from that period that have been
trashed by now. Although I did not cycle them repeatedly, I am very
impressed with the batteries calendar life. I expect them to be doing UPS
duty fairly soon just like Rich.
