Again, the idea is NOT to try replacing SUVs with EVs. It won't happen
anytime soon.
The idea is to convince SUV drivers to also get an EV they will use for
their daily commute, keeping the SUV for longer trips or when they need lots
of room.

One car at a time, one car at a time...

How can replacing a small car with a giant SUV with blacked out windows make
things safer and less congested?   It doesn't, so the reverse IS true -
smaller cars take up less space and make roads less congested.  From what I
remember one study said that an SUV was equivalent to 2 small cars.
