It is obviously safer for occupants in case of collision between
heavy SUV and light car. Think of the impact.
This souls not justify usage of SUV as a commuter but for
instance my wife said in SUV I feel more like in a armored
protection car - it will get a really high speed impact of
a light car to impact SUV driver. Hard to argue. He transports
kids in it all the time.
