Re: EV features emblems/badges
Hi Doug and all,
I have had a few suggestions for additional variations on the "Electric"
emblems, but since I don't actually make these myself, but have them
manufactured to order I haven't been willing to risk investing in a large
batch that might not sell.
Western Auto used to sell individual chrome or gold finish letters and
numbers, and I had thought of labeling my EV "156 Volts" or some such. As
it is, I think just the "electric" logo grabs enough attention. Most folks
see the chrome lettering and automatically assume it is a factory built
EV. The guys at the Honda dealership went nuts over it. On my car I also
removed the "Civic" text decal from the back, and had a local sign shop
make up an "electric" decal to replace it. The 3 inch high letters on the
reflective background is pretty hard to miss.
Since Doug has mentioned this, I might as well do my sales pitch, as it has
been a few months. These emblems he mentioned are "Electric" car emblems,
made like the OEM factory lettering. They are fabricated from a weather
resistant thermoplastic, and feature a bright chrome like finish on the
letter faces with a matte black background. They mount easily with the self
adhesive HighTack backing. Each sign is approximately 1.25" in height and
7" in length. I am selling them for only $6.00 each or four for $20.00,
plus $1.75 shipping and handling per order. Discounts for larger orders
available. You can see them on a number of EVs in the EV Album, or at:
http://www.austinev.org/evalbum/signs.html
If are interested, contact me off list. I still have several hundred on
hand, but I will be ordering more if these run out.
Thanks,
Mike Chancey,
