Hi Joe, thanks for the response.

Don't worry, I'm a BBSer from way back, and know an awful lot
about easy it is to be misunderstood in plain text.  When I get
around to asking questions, I'll probably spend several days
composing each one.  :-)

I don't know yet.  So far the only electrical device I've ever
imported was a sound card for me PC, and the only problem was
I had to pay tax.

I'll be looking around for local parts as much as possible,
partly because the exchange rate is so bad - US prices have to
be multiplied by about 2.5, and then there's shipping on top of
that.
