That is an interesting suggestion that I never thought of ( get one (or
more) transformers to do the job) teach me more, can transformers be
paralleled if the are the same to increase total VA?

 Below is what I found so far, #1, the toroidal is the cheapest but
multitapped and step down, should be ok with a variac and PFC-50?

#5 is the most expensive and comes closet to what I need, not quite enough
VA for a PFC-50.

I'm open to suggestions if anybody has any other transformers or links.
