RE: Optima alternatives

Thanks Ed,

That is what I needed to know:
The size, weight and voltage are critical.

Here is what I found on an internet search

Yellow Top Optima Model D34/78-950 12V Deep Cycle Battery D750U 65ah
L 10"/254mm x W 6.8"/172.2mm x H 7.8"/198.1mm (to terminal tops)
Weight 43.8lb/17.6kg

*Best prices I found (but you need to check their added shipping)
$159.95 http://www.alternatorparts.com/Optima%20Batteries.htm
$130 http://shop.store.yahoo.com/corvetteforum/opyeltopdual.html

-What is a good Optima YT source with the best price in the SF bay
area?

-US batteries does not have an Exide orbital comparable model?

-Has anyone checked if the Evercell would fit?

There has to be an alternative we can find if we persist.
Sparrows may be tough to get new right now, but there
are used ones for sale. The new and current drivers are
going to want help to resolve battery, controller and
other EV component issues.

Like every other EV driver, they like their EV. They
are a positive PR force for the EV cause. It does not
matter what show/EVent I attend. Their is always
people zooming to go look at and sit in the Sparrow.
