Tips for the new EV drivers

With the flood of RAV4 EV drivers that almost took over 
the Los Gatos EVent on Sunday, I envision a lot of brand
spanking new EV drivers that we need to show the ropes to.

Before we get into the regular EV basics of how and where
to plug in, etc., etc., we need to start a few steps back.

Many of these new EV drivers are coming directly from the 
ICE age (am perhaps some baggage/ bad habits they need to chuck).

They will need to learn to leave the problems they had with 
their old ICE behind. If you make the same mistakes, you will 
break your new Electric toy.

A couple of examples are, if you are forgetful like this driver

there are lock outs when the power is off, but there could
be a time when it is possible to do this with an EV.

Now, I will be the first one to admit that I am zealous about 
seeking out new places to charge, but knowing that there is 
charging at docks,

does not mean you should dive right in.

Haste does make waste. If you are in a hurry and just go for 
it without really looking and thinking about it, you could

get your self in a jam. In this case the stairs should have 
tipped you off that it was not a parking entrance.

I am sure others can help the newbies with other areas that
they should avoid.
