battery refunds

Some surprises today. My wife took in the 18 old T-125's, to make room for
the US125's that have been ordered.

Surprise no. 1: the golf cart place in town lies. They wouldn't take them
like they said. This is the same place that wouldn't sell or loan me a
handle to take mine out.

Surprise no. 2: Our local wal-mart pays $5 a battery for used batteries
(the recycler gives them $10 each). Unfortunately, they have a store policy
that they don't do it if you take in more than 10 at a time. Apparently,
they had a problem with people stealing batteries and taking them there for
the $5.

Next time I'll remember, and take 10 or less at a time. Even the battery
dealers in Tulsa only offered $1 each.

Anybody else getting anywhere close to $5 each?

FWIW, so far, I'm very pleased with USB. The USB distributor in my area
(he's in Kansas City), had no problem with ordering them with special posts
(and no down payment). In fact, he sent me a FAX with the entire lineup to
pick from. But he is familiar with EV's. Being in KC, he's probably seen a
few.
