Oregon strikes against EVs

Well, I sure everyone on the planet know about this, but:

<rant on>

I was filling out registration stuff for my EV today, and discovered
registration fees for EVs (and hybirds) are twice that of ICE vehicle.

How utterly stupid! Geez, what a great way to encourage ecologically sound
transportation. NOT! I will have to say that lawmakers in Oregon are not
only short sighted, but quite stupid as well. Arrg.

I know the reasoning: (or lack thereof) They gotta make up all the missed
revenue of fuel tax. Morons. Even bigger morons since there is a tax
credit for hybirds, etc. Why give the tax credit when registration is
twice a much?

Gotta get some letters out to protest. An, I thought that since Oregon is
a net metering state, they would have their heads pulled out in a
consistant manner. Guess not.

</rant off>
